Tangan Tangan Kecil
Did I tell you how much I love doing community services?
Wednesday, August 24 2011, my senior Reza (or Eja) held an event named Tangan Tangan Kecil (Small Hands? Lol). This event was organized by SMAN 8 students, 2012 and 2013 students to be exact — oh there’s also someone named Poppy from Germany! She’s Indonesian. How cool is that? :} And yes, Eja is the coordinator of the event. It’d been arranged since before Ramadhan, if I’m not mistaken. It was a breakfasting event with 50 orphan kids at Ridyatus Shalihin (Risol), it’s close to our school. As simple as it sounds, yet I know it really gave an impact to the kids. Long story short, I decided to be a part of the event. Honestly, I didn’t do much work cause I joined the team by D-5 but you know, I wish I could so much more to help. I got some kind of guilty feeling.
How was the event? Here, I tell you..
UH-MA-ZING, MARVELOUS, PRODIGIOUS, and any other synonyms of ‘awesome’ that you find on thesaurus.
Seriously, no lies here, it’s just pure amazing. The kids had successfully stolen my heart and taken it away from me. I reallyyyyy do love kids, especially talkative ones, but I met this little lady named Kiki and she was really shy! I tried to talk to her few times until she finally let me hear her voice and we talked a bit. But guess what, at the end of the day, Kiki told me “actually, my name is not Kiki.. I’m xx!” I forgot her real name I’m sorry, Ki :”( and I was like “whaaaa?” lol, funny, yes? I wondered why she didn’t tell me her real name at the first place haha what a gorgeous kid!
Whenever I do a community service, I meet a lot of new people, and all of them are kind people. I really am glad I was part of this event because the teammates were all awesome. BIG THANK YOU, to Eja, who had come with an idea to make this event. I’m very looking forward to another community service! :}
Do you know that rhe reason I posted this on my blog is to inspire you readers to do the same? Yeah right, get your ass off and do a community service! Trust me, it is always fascinating to help needy people around you because they really need a help from you even if you don’t notice.
PS. Thanks to kak Rizki for the pictures! :}
